  • The VIP105 is a compact high quality RGBS to YPrPb converter. It is designed to broadcast specification, and for ease of use and installation. The unit accepts either composite or non-composite RGB signals and converts them to YPrPb (i.e. Y,R-Y,B-Y or YUV) signals. It provides three outputs each of YPrPb and Mixed Sync.
  • A typical application of the VIP105 is the conversion of the RGBS output from graphics equipment when preparing or editing material in, for example, the Betacam format.
  • The on-board sync pulse generator locks to a reference input which can be Mixed Sync, "Sync on Green", a composite colour signal or colour black - with internal links being changed as necessary. The unit will accept a reference sync amplitude of between 300mV and 4V.
  • Sync pulses are regenerated and correctly shaped for insertion in the Y outputs, and to provide the Mixed Sync outputs. An H phase control is provided to allow adjustment of system timing if necessary.
  • The VIP105 is available as a Eurocard, housed in a 19" rack unit which can accommodate up to four modules. The on-board power supply includes rectifiers and regulators allowing the power input to be either ac or dc.

  • Blanking pulses are regenerated and used to correctly blank the YPrPb inputs. Sync pulses are also regenerated and correctly shaped to provide the Mixed Sync outputs. An H phase control is provided to allow adjustment of system timing if necessary.
