Analogue
to Digital Converter ADC271
Analogue to SDI Digital Converter

,
but much of the source material is
still analogue, as are the television monitors used to view the edited
output.
The ADC271
analogue to digital converter offers
a low-cost alternative to full-blown comb
filter decoding and full specification filtering, which would in any
case be superfluous with many composite and YC sources. ADC271 / ADC72
are useful for incorporating
off-line VTRs (e.g. U-Matic or VHS) in SDI editing suites and for converting
existing PAL equipment such as VTR clocks and character generators to
SDI.
As an
engineering tool, a pair of video converters provide
an easy way to produce an SDI signal from a normal analogue signal and
to check the presence of an SDI signal without the need for an SDI
monitor.
An EBU
colour bars generator is incorporated into
the DAC271 digital to analogue converter. Switching quickly through
the video output format selector switch positions invokes bars mode.
Once invoked, the switch is used to select the output format in the
usual manner (colour bars are available on all outputs, composite, YC,
YUV and RGB). Quick switching
again
returns the DAC271 to normal digital-analogue conversion mode.
Both PAL
625/50Hz and NTSC 525/60Hz signals may
be fed to and from the Baysaver. The television standard is determined
by the position of an internal link on the DAC271 and its automatic on
the ADC271.

Digital Quad Splits with built-in ARC & Ident - VIP4000SDI
SDI Digital Quad Split

-
The VIP4000Sdi Quadsplit
is a compact and economically priced unit providing the display of
four complete video pictures on one picture monitor. It is designed to
allow the reduction of the number of screens required in a monitoring
situation. It operates in 525 or 625 standards.
-
The Quadsplit accepts four
SDI video inputs, any or all may be non-synchronous. Each of the
inputs has a buffered output. The inputs are then processed in order
to "scale" each picture to one quadrant of the raster for
display, with the four pictures all being updated in real time. The
quad display or each of the inputs can be switched to a display
monitor.
-
Each quadrant has a source
ident and there are GPIs to highlight which source is on air.
-
Two VIP4000Sdi units can
be housed in a 19" 1U rack frame unit. If the input's buffered
outputs are not required, then four units can be housed in a 19"
case.
Features
-
Industry Standard four SDI 625 / 525
video inputs that can be synchronous/non-synchronous
-
Displays four complete pictures on one
SDI monitor or Plasma screen
-
Aspect Ratio Converter on each input
for correct picture on 4:3 and 16:9 monitors
-
Source ident for each input and there
are GPIs to highlight which source is "on air".
-
Buffered SDI output per channel
-
Real time updating for broadcasting and
security applications
-
Up to four VIP4000SDI units can be
housed in a 1U rack

video pictures on one picture monitor. It is designed to allow the
reduction of the number of screens required in a monitoring situation.
It operates in 525 or 625 standards.
-
The VIP16000 accepts sixteen SDI video
inputs, any or all may be non-synchronous. Each of the inputs has a
buffered output. The inputs are then processed in order to
"scale" each picture to one sixteenth of the raster for
display, with the pictures all being updated in real time. The 16
array or each of the inputs can be switched to a display monitor as
well as a flexible selection of sizes and positions of a main picture
with smaller ones around.
